Child AbuseAny injury to a child, be it physical, sexual, or psychological is considered to be abuse under Texas state law.
Abuse can be a difficult thing to go through and understand. The first thing to do is to stop it so that the healing process can begin. Below you will find a link to the CPS website. This, or calling the police should be your first line of defense. After the perpetrator is removed from the situation counseling should begin to help the child to realize the number one thing that they need to realize: it wasn't there fault. |
Adult AbuseDomestic abuse is unfortunately a serious issue. The first step is to recognize the importance of getting out of the abusive scenario. People have the right to be treated with dignity and respect.
It can often feel very isolating to be the victim of abuse. That's why it is so difficult to step forward and get out of the situation. Tell someone. A friend, a family member, a counselor. Just someone. That's the first step. You can get out of it by yourself, but having someone to support you and go through the process with you will make things much easier. |
